RIIRIS201D – CONDUCT LOCAL RISK CONTROL

AIMS AND OUTCOMES
This competency unit addresses the need to provide participants with the knowledge and skills to be able to conduct local risk control within their work environment and is structured for those entering into entry level operational roles on a worksite.

PERFORMANCE CRITERIA

  • Conduct Risk and Hazard Assessment
  • Understand HAZCHEM markings
  • Understand Prevailing Legislation and Applicable Standards
  • Understand working with company procedures

COURSE CONTENT

  • Locates and applies relevant documentation, policies and procedures
  • Complying with site and equipment safety requirements
  • Inspect work area and identify potential hazards
  • Apply existing procedures to deal with recognised hazards
  • Assess and determine consequence if an event should occur
  • Consider and determine the likelihood of an event
  • Identify criteria for acceptable/unacceptable risk or source advice
  • Identify and consider risk treatment options
  • Select the most appropriate action for dealing with the situation
  • Communicate information on the course of action chosen and implementation
  • Complete required records and reports as specified by legislation and site requirements
  • Complying with site isolation and site control responsibilities and authorities
  • Theoretical and Practical Assessment

CERTIFICATION

A Statement of Attainment and Notice of Assessment will be issued upon successful completion in accordance with RTO partnership agreement
